The Wood Track

I went with Trackmate instead of building all my electronics this time.

The light bridge and the sensors, I bought the 4 lane solution and resized it to the width I needed with only 3 LEDs

Top left of the picture: the main relay for power to the track, driven from the computer
Pyramid power supply for now, 6-15V 25 Amps. Will be replaced soon by my Trackmate supply 0-30V, 20 Amps currently on loan
BK precision power supply for all accessories: 2x 0-30V, 3 Amps plus 5V/5Amps
Obviously some clean-up work to do for the wires

Trackmate interface board for sensors and relays, serial (9 pin) connector with a serial-USB adaptor into the laptop

The Wood Track

Added a third driver station, wiring is done (although temporary), sensors are on the track, computer is connected, 5.64 sec best lap with a modified Scalextric Camaro ... Not bad for about 70 feet of track. More importantly, all three lane times are within 1/10 sec of each other

The Wood Track

Add some temporary fencing (gutter guard) so we can start using the track soon

The Wood Track

Reuse the old driver stations. Will need to build a third one.

The Wood Track

Now comes the wiring. First, connect all the braids from all the MDF pieces. Got my big helper with me Happy

The Wood Track

The frame is now built and ready
